Cookie Policy

This policy explains which cookies and similar storage technologies runime saves in your browser when you use the app, why we use them, and how you can manage your preferences. runime uses no advertising, targeting or behavioural-profiling cookies.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that the websites you visit save in your browser. They are used to remember you on your next visit (keeping you signed in, preserving your language choice), to run security checks, and to make the app work correctly.

Similar browser storage mechanisms such as localStorage, sessionStorage and IndexedDBare also covered by this policy; for brevity we refer to all of them together as “cookies”.

To the extent cookies constitute personal data, their processing is carried out by IS.TEAM LLC (runime) under our Privacy Policyand applicable data-protection law (including the EU/UK GDPR and Turkey’s Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data, KVKK).

Our cookie categories

runime uses only the following three categories. We do not use advertising, retargeting or behavioural-profiling cookies. We do not share your data with third-party ad networks, and we do not track you across the web to show you ads.

  • Strictly necessary cookies: required for the service to work technically (for example, the session cookie). Without them you cannot sign in or reach your projects. The session cookie is sent with the HttpOnly + Secure + SameSite=Lax flags, which prevent it from being read by JavaScript and protect against cross-site request forgery (CSRF). Strictly necessary cookies do not require consent — they are essential to provide the service.
  • Functional cookies: remember your preferences (interface language and your cookie choice). Without them the app still works, but you would have to set your preferences again on every visit.
  • Analytics cookies: help us measure, anonymously and in aggregate, which parts of the app are used and how often, so we can spot errors and improve the product. They do not build an individual profile. Where analytics require a cookie, it is loaded only if you consent via the banner shown on your first visit.

Cookies we use

The table below lists the first-party cookies set on the runime domain:

runime-localeFunctionalRemembers your interface language (English / Turkish).1 yearFirst-party
runime-consentFunctionalStores your cookie choice (accept / decline) so the banner doesn’t reappear every visit.1 yearFirst-party

Note: runime runs in dark theme only and offers no theme switch, so no theme-preference cookie is stored.

Third-party cookies

Some features require our trusted service providers to set cookies on their own domains. These cookies are controlled by that provider and are subject to its privacy/cookie policy:

  • Stripe, Inc. (hosted payment page): when you buy a paid subscription or tokens, payment is taken on a secure page hosted by Stripe, Inc. (Stripe Checkout). Stripe sets its own cookies for fraud prevention and payment security (PCI DSS). Your card details are sent directly to Stripe and are never stored on IS.TEAM LLC servers. See the Stripe Privacy Policy.
  • Sign in with Google:when you sign in with Google, authentication happens on Google’s own domain and Google may set session/security cookies. These cookies are subject to Google’s privacy policy.
  • Infrastructure & delivery (Cloudflare / Vercel): the providers that host and protect the app may set technical cookies for load balancing, bot/DDoS protection and fast content delivery. These cookies serve no marketing purpose.

These third-party cookies are set on behalf of the relevant provider, not runime; we cannot read them.

How to manage your preferences

You always have two ways to control cookies:

  1. Browser settings:every modern browser lets you view, delete or block cookies from its “Privacy and Security” menu. Warning: if you block strictly necessary cookies, core features such as signing in and payment may not work.
  2. Cookie banner: from the banner shown on your first visit you can accept or decline non-essential (analytics) cookies. Your choice is stored in the runime-consent cookie and you can change it at any time.

Declining is as easy as accepting. On our banner the “Decline” option is equally prominent as “Accept” and reachable in one click; we use no dark patterns that nudge you toward consent. This follows the KVK Board’s decision 2022/9 that rejecting must be as easy as accepting. Even if you decline analytics cookies, you can keep using runime in full.

Updates

We may update this policy as the cookies we use or the applicable law change. The current version is always published on this page, and the “Last updated” date at the top shows when a change took effect. For a material change we will also notify you inside the app.
